03/09 – PRIME WEBINAR | Interoperability through Unified Communication

03/09 – PRIME WEBINAR | Interoperability through Unified Communication

PRIME Alliance is pleased to host the webinar Interoperability through Unified Communication on September 3 at 11:00 CET, in collaboration with El Sewedy Electrometer (PRIME Principal member).

During the session, attendees will discover the Unified PLC Modem, a standardized hardware and firmware communication platform designed to support multiple PLC standards through a common communication architecture. The webinar will examine how a vendor-neutral and interoperable approach can reduce development effort, accelerate time-to-market, lower costs, and enable more scalable smart grid deployments. It will also highlight how standardization is transforming the smart metering ecosystem and driving the adoption of advanced grid technologies.

KEY AREAS OF DISCUSSION

The webinar will cover the challenges and opportunities associated with communication interoperability in smart metering environments, including:

🔹 The reality and complexity of AMI solutions

🔹 Foundations of communication standardization

🔹 Previous efforts toward unification

🔹 Overview of the proposed system architecture

🔹 Mechanical solution and design considerations

🔹 Supported communication protocols

🔹 Firmware interface

🔹 Security aspects

🔹 The impact of interoperability and interchangeability

The session will be led by Dr. Ahmed Soltan, a recognized expert in smart metering communications and interoperability, and supported by Christine Wassem, bringing valuable perspectives on communication standardization and interoperability for smart grid technologies.
