8th Annual PRIME Utility-to-Utility User Group Conference

PRIME Alliance is pleased to announce the celebration of the 8th Annual PRIME Utility-to-Utility Conference, taking place on September 23 at the headquarters of Naturgy (Cmo. de Perales, 11, Usera, 28026) in Madrid (Spain).

This in-person event is exclusively for utilities, who are invited to attend free of charge, regardless of their membership status. PRIME Alliance also encourages non-utility members to invite utility partners and collaborators to take part in this unique industry initiative.

The conference will count with presentations from utilities such as Iberdrola, Endesa, UFD, and EDP, among others, showcasing their latest smart metering deployments and sharing practical experiences and lessons learned from ongoing PRIME implementations

Recognised as a key gathering for the utility community, the PRIME U2U provides a trusted forum for sharing real deployment experiences, operational challenges, and practical insights related to PRIME technology and smart metering implementations. These peer-to-peer discussions play an important role in supporting the continuous evolution and improvement of PRIME technology.

What to Expect

Participants will be able to attend the Conference from 08:30 to 15:00, including networking lunch. This will be followed by a technical visit programme from 15:00 to 17:30 at Naturgy facilities, featuring four dedicated technical activities:

🔸 UFD Smart Metering Laboratory: A unique opportunity to discover first-hand the technologies shaping the future of smart metering, including second-generation smart meters, validation processes, and innovations in dual PRIME 1.3.6/1.4 meters, with live AMI demonstrations and real-time interaction with meters.

🔸 Network Operations Centre and Low Voltage Control Room: Access to UFD’s upgraded NOC, where millions of smart devices are monitored in real time, showing how meter data is transformed into actionable grid intelligence.

🔸 UFD Laboratory Transformer Centre: A real transformer centre showcasing digital technologies in distribution networks, highlighting the role of communications, metering and monitoring in grid digitalisation.

🔸 Smart Metering Centralisation Installation: A fully operational environment where participants can observe real smart meter behaviour and AMI performance, including live system demonstrations and response analysis.
