Saiman, the largest meter manufacturer in Kazakhstan, will produce next generation software defined smart meters using Phoenix-RTOS operating system. The inherent part of Phoenix-RTOS operating system is Phoenix-PRIME – fully software defined implementation of PRIME protocol. The new meter architecture based on software and general purpose hardware gives the freedom in implementing sophisticated requirements and applications for optimising energy consumption, integrating the local renevable sources and energy storage.
