Second PRIME Utility to Utility User Group Conference held in Lisbon

With the ongoing expansion of PRIME Alliance, the second annual Utility to Utility User Group Conference, took place in Lisbon from the 20th to 21st of January 2016. The event was hosted by EDP Distribuição.

The PRIME v1.4 Technology meters were discussed to provide a robust and wideband PLC for wireline and wireless applications. The actualisation of deploying over 10 million PRIME meters were presented by leading utilities; Energa-Operator, Energias de Portugal, Gas Natural Fenosa and Iberdrola.

The next PRIME U2U Group Conference 2017 will be held in Gdansk (Poland), hosted by Energa-Operator.

Iberdrola

 

Iberdrola has surpassed the deployment of 7 Million PRIME meters, with the expectation of reaching 8 Million by the end of this year!

Gas Natural Fenosa

 

Gas Natural Fenosa has deployed over 2 Million PRIME meters in Spain.

has exceeded its target of deploying 300 000 PRIME meters with an additional 100 000 meters as reported this March.

Energa
as one of the leading utilities has established over 700 000 PRIME meters in Poland.

New Pilot to Deployment Movie:

Successful trials and pilots were undergoing in Lebanon, with utilities NEU, BUS and KVA. PRIME was chosen to form a major part in the reformation process of the countries power sector, by enabling remote monitoring and automation of the distribution network. ST Latvia already made the step of deploying commercially in the field. Reaching 100'000 meters across Latvia today is proving the success of the intensive requirements analysis, technology evaluation and pilot phases in prior years.

With the attendance of Iberdrola, STMicroelectronics and Atmel, PRIME Alliance is informing others with their vibrant presentations.

UTC Latin America – Brazil, April 2016 - As in the previous year, the PRIME Alliance is sponsoring the Latin American Utilities Telecom Council Summit 2016 in Florianópolis, Brazil, from April 6th to 8th, 2016. ZIV, as a board member of the PRIME Alliance, presented the PRIME Experience not only in Europe, but also in Brazil. Additionally, a special and dedicated PRIME Alliance Workshop led by EDP, GNF, and Elektro/Iberdrola took place on the afternoon of April 5th, before the official commencement of the event.

Upcoming Events:

Future Grid Central Asia, 14 – 15 April, Astana, Kazakhstan - The Central Asian Conference will serve as a knowledge and experience-sharing platform for the development and implementation of future electricity grids across the value chain. Energa, as a board member of the PRIME Alliance, will present the experience of PRIME in real Commercial Roll Out and the newest technological breakthrough. 

African Utility Week, 17 – 19 May, Cape Town, South Africa - Join us for the 16th edition of African Utility Week the only global conference and trade exhibition for African power and water utilities, which offers a unique networking opportunity. The PRIME Alliance is also sponsoring this conference and will exhibit two (2) presentations: one led by Iberdrola about their experience in deploying PRIME in their STAR Projects and the other one led by PRIME Alliance presenting the benefits of using a standardized, open and royalty free technology for the benefit of all industry stakeholders.

Asian Utility Week, 31 May – 1 June, Bangkok, Thailand - The 17th edition of the Asian Utility Week will focus on bringing innovations in Smart Grids strategy to Asian utilities. Sagemcom, as a board member of the PRIME Alliance, will present how to leverage PRIME to enable Smart Grid in addition to displaying the wide portfolio of references.

TECHNICAL WORKING GROUP UPDATE

Since the last newsletter, four new certifications were granted to:

ZIV Metering Solutions S.L., with their data concentrator, 4CCT-E*B.

Sogecam Industrial S.A., with an update to their three-phase energy meters with DLMS-PRIME Communication, SOG-WAVE3F+.

Sagemcom Energy & Telcom SAS, recertified for two different electricity meters, i.e. single-phase and three-phase service node, CX1000-6 ES and CX2000-9 respectively.
