European Utility Week – Announcement of 10 Million meters deployed 

During the ‘European Utility Week’ in Vienna (3rd – 5th November 2015) the PRIME Alliance has announced that 10 million meters have been deployed by utilities and service providers worldwide.

Additionally, the striking increase in deployments is accompanied by a geographic expansion. This year, PRIME has witnessed a crossing of borders to Northern Europe and the Middle East.

COMING UP: UTILITY 2 USER GROUP MEETING – LISBON, 2016

We are pleased to announce that PRIME will be hosting the 2016 edition of the Utility User Group meeting on January 20th and 21st in Lisbon, Portugal. The second edition will be hosted by EDP Distribuição.

PRIME’s geographic expansion featured various projects in Latvia and Lebanon!

PRIME in Latvia – Commercial roll out: JSC Sadales tīkls (ST) is the leading power distribution operator in Latvia, providing operation and development of distribution networks. ST reaches over one million customers covering 99% of country’s territory with their provision of electricity, network monitoring and electricity metering.

Since 2014, ST has initiated an immense rollout of smart metering, including PRIME ADD Grup Smart meters, DCUs and head-end systems. This year, ST has been responsible for deploying for more than 100 000 ADD Grup PRIME meters.

ST will also be presenting their project at the Utility User Group meeting in Lisbon upcoming January!

PRIME in Lebanon – New pilots for Prime: Two of Lebanon’s leading distribution operators, NEU and BUS have selected PRIME as a Smart metering standard for their pilot projects, which will be developed into commercial roll outs. 

The NEU pilot will involve 1,600 meters and 10 DCUs, demonstrating interoperability with devices from ZIV and Sagemcom.

The BUS pilot will involve 1,600 meters from the ElSewedy Group , including six substation meters from ElSewedy Group and six DCUs from Ormazabal CURRENT, tested in noisy and challenging environments.

Schneider Electric – Winner of the Sustainable Development Award: As part of the European Utility Week, the conference celebrates exceptional commitment and achievements in the fast-growing utility industry with their European Utility Industry Awards. Schneider Electric was announced as the winner of the Sustainable Development Award, thereby bringing their StruxureWare Demand Side Operation cloud-based platform in the spotlight. This platform aims to optimize demand side management by allowing consumers to use energy at the right time when available, ecological and affordable, adding to the greater good of energy efficiency.
