Phoenix Systems is a technological company developing embedded software around its proprietary real-time operating system Phoenix-RTOS for the Internet of Things market.
For the rapidly growing Smart Grid market, Phoenix Systems developed and certified its first pure software implementation of PLC protocol stack – Phoenix-PRIME. Certification of the Phoenix-PRIME Board was taken in DNV GL Smart Grid laboratory and finished on the 27th of October.
The official launch of the Phoenix-PRIME Board took place at the European Utility Week from November 4th till 6th in Amsterdam. Phoenix-PRIME Board was presented on the PRIME Alliance booth among recently certified PRIME-based products.
Phoenix-PRIME is a unique on the market, purely software implementation of 1.3.6 PRIME standard version prepared for Freescale Kinetis family of microcontrollers, initially K21 (ARM® Cortex™-M4 120MHz, 128kB FLASH, 128kB RAM) connected to a three-phase power line by a coupling system. Reference design in the form of Phoenix-PRIME Board with a set of software tools for easy integration into the target PRIME PLC product is currently available. Phoenix-PRIME will be offered to the manufacturers of the Smart Grid devices interested in software-based solution.
